The castle is a fine setting for cultural events and for long periods of the year hosts artists, scholars and researchers from various disiplines. In the spring, ICCROM (The international centre for the conservation and restoration of monuments) organises courses regarding the restoration of murals. In the summer the castle serves as the venue for the Pontino festival of music and the centre for musical studies organised by the 'Campus Internazionali di musica'. The castle acts as venue for training courses in architecture, town-planning, sociology, ecology, shows and congresses.
