Castle of Proceno
The
Castello di Proceno is a 12th century fortress, built to protect its
ancient hamlet. Once seriously damaged, the castle and its grounds are
now fully renovated and include two restaurants, three family sized
apartments, housed within the fort and four more intimate flats within
the medieval courtyard. All apartments have access to the garden and
swimming pool via an ancient tunnel dug between the castles foundations.
Each apartment is decorated in its own charmingly unique manner, with
the castle's original anti-^queFcreating a true Tuscan feel. They are
also fully equipped for the necessities of 21th century life, besides
the modern kitchens each apartment includes a telephone, hairdryer and
combination safe.
The
castles owners have now also completed work on two weJJ appointed
meeting rooms capable on to holding up to 30 people. Se^t high above the
surrounding; countryside, Proceno's views are truly breathtaking, and
for those able to drag themselves away from the pool, the region abounds
with Etruscan, Medieval and Renaissance monuments. II Giulione is the
castle's impressive hunting lodge. Able to accommodate 12 people, there
are 6 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, 2 large livirigToomsTa" porch,
fireplace and a beautiful swimming pool.
